Our courses offer a flexible structure

We recognise the challenges many students are faced with these days, including work, family and social commitments. As a result, our degrees are designed to be as flexible as possible.

Students can choose their major at the beginning or end of their first-year of study. There is no need to restrict your options either because you can choose from a range of second and third year subjects. This flexibility enables you to pursue areas of interest to you, while keeping your career options open.

Students are offered a choice of full-time, part-time study, or a mixture of both options and classes are delivered through various study modes - lectures, tutorials, laboratory practicals and field trips.

Further exciting opportunities exist for UTS: Science students to study overseas through either the International Exchange Students Scheme or the Institute for International Studies.

Our courses utilise the UTS HSC Bonus Scheme

The UTS HSC Bonus Scheme was put into place because we believe that a student's ability to undertake a degree can be better ascertained by considering the subjects they completed in high school as well as their overall ATAR results. In other words, this scheme allows us to take into account your performance in particular HSC subjects, in addition to your ATAR (or equivalent for interstate).

If you are a 2009 Australian high school applicant you may be eligible for this scheme. You can be awarded a maximum of five HSC bonus points for UTS: Science courses. This process is automatic and no application is required.

All Science undergraduate courses are considered for this scheme, except for those combined with Law.

See UTS HSC Bonus Scheme to calculate your HSC bonus points
