The Centre for Ecotoxicology (CET) was established as a joint venture of the University of Technology, Sydney and the NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change in 1985.
The CET is recognised by both Australian Federal and State Governments as a leader in research, specialist consultancy, professional education and training in both aquatic and terrestrial ecotoxicology and associated environmental management. The Centre receives support for its work from a wide range of organisations in industry, commerce and government.
Staff of the CET comprise full-time EPA staff, with several others being involved on a part-time basis, and a similar number of UTS staff from the Faculty of Science. The CET also enjoys close research links with other organisations such as ANSTO, CSIRO, State Government agencies, local government and a number of private companies.
