The Centre for Ecotoxicology (CET) is a joint venture of the University of Technology, Sydney and the Environment Protection Authority of New South Wales, which has been working in this new and fast-growing area for over a decade. Its laboratory facilities are located within the Faculty of Science of UTS.
The CET is recognised by both Australian Federal and State Governments as a leader in research, specialist consultancy, professional education and training in both aquatic and terrestrial ecotoxicology and associated environmental management. The Centre receives support for its work from a wide range of organisations in industry, commerce and government.
Staff of the CET comprise nine full-time EPA staff, with several others being involved on a part-time basis, and a similar number of UTS staff from the Faculty of Science. The CET also enjoys close research links with other organisations such as ANSTO, CSIRO, State Government agencies, local government and a number of private companies.
