Centre for Ecotoxicology Services

The Centre for Ecotoxicology is recognised as aleader in research and offers specialist consultancy, professional education and training in both aquatic and terrestrial ecotoxicology and associated environmental management.

Research consultancies for industry and government are an important part of our work. For non-government client organisations, the EPA arm of the CET is generally precluded from consultancies because of potential conflict of interest considerations. However the UTS arm offers a completely confidential research consultancy service to industry, for which all of the combined facilities are available. Since many of these are state-of-the-art, the Centre is well placed to offer this service.

Information and technology transfer are provided via short courses, seminars and workshops custom-made to suit industry/ agency requirements. They can be presented either on campus or in-house, as required.

Postgraduate teaching and research training are a collaboration between UTS and EPA staff. All programs are available on both a full-time and part-time basis.

Coursework programs include a Masters degree by Coursework, a Graduate Diploma, and two Graduate Certificates in Environmental Toxicology,. These include both ecological toxicology and some elements of public health toxicology. Applications should be received before the end of October for entry in the following year (except for the Spring Graduate Certificate, for which applications are due in May). Late applications will be considered, however you should apply as early as possible to enhance your chances of admission.

Research training programs are offered at Masters and Doctoral levels, in all of the areas of research undertaken in the CET. Applications for these programs can be made at any time of year. Contact the Director of the CET or the Course Co-ordinator to discuss possible projects.
