DES Excursions

Excursions are an integral component of many subjects in DES degrees. Some subjects contain a number of day excursions which are normally held during the timetabled hours. The timing of such excursions will be indicated in the subject outlines which will be available to students by the end of the first week of semester.

Overnight excursions are either part of a subject being provided instead of some, or all, of the practical laboratory component of the subject, or comprise the entire subject so that there are no requirements for attendance on campus. Students need to check UTSOnline information for each subject regarding the scheduled attendance patterns. Attendance at all scheduled excursions is normally a requirement for successful completion of the academic program.

The table provided here is for overnight excursions only. All the subjects listed in the table are electives in various degrees offered by DES, except for 91153 Catchment Ecosystems and 91309 Biodiversity which are core subjects in marine biology, environmental biology and urban ecology degrees.
