Teaching
I have been teaching at UTS since 1985. Over that period I have taught the following subjects:
- 91311 Biology 1 (1985-1991)
- 91312 Biology 2 (1999-2000)
- Quantitative Ecology (1985-1997)
- Terrestrial Ecology (1992-1997)
- Applied Ecology (1986-1991)
- Human Biology (1986)
- Animal Ecophysiology (1986)
- Biomonitoring 1985-1991
- Coastal Resource Management 1
- Environmental Management Procedures
- Pollution assessment & Monitoring
- Integrated Environmental Assessment
- Biological Resources & Assessment
- Coastal Management Project
- Environmental Toxicology project
For the period 1991-1998, I was principally involved with the Coastal Resource Management postgraduate degree program. This was a multi-and trans-disciplinary coursework postgraduate degree involving a detailed project. It served as the benchmark model for subsequent degree development internationally.
I was involved in international programmes in Rhode Island (1995), Manila (1995), Malta (1995) and Xiamen PRC (1996).
My current teaching duties are:
- 91101 Cells Genetics & Evolution (coord)
- 91102 Functional Biology (coord)
- 91118 Fisheries Resources (coord)
- 91122 Environmental Management (coord
- 91124 Coast and marine Ecosystems
- 91309 Australian Biota
- 98711 Coastal Policy (coord)
Along with being the Director of First Year Biology.
