Varian Cary Eclipse Fluorescence Spectrometer

The Varian Cary Eclipse Fluorescence Spectrometer operates in fluorescence, phosphorescence or bio or chemi-luminescence modes. It has Xe pulse lamp source (80 Hz) and Czerny-Turner monochromators. Its excitation and emission wavelength range is of 200-900 nm (High performance R928 PMT) with minimum slit width of 1.5 nm. Scan rates are from 0.01-24 000 nm/min, 80 data points per second maximum measurement rate.

Perkin Elmer LS50 Luminescence Spectrometer

The Perkin Elmer LS50 Luminescence Spectrometer’s excitation and emission monochromators can be scanned over their ranges independently, synchronously or driven to selected points in their ranges as indicated:

  • Excitation Monochromator Range: 200 nm – 800 nm and zero order
  • Emission Monochromator Range: 200 nm – 900 nm and zero order
  • Resolution (increments of 0.1 nm): 2.5 nm – 15 nm (Ex) 2.5 nm – 20 nm (Em).

Its capabilities include fluorescence, phosphorescence and chemi or bioluminescence, solid and liquid sample holder.

Gatan MONOCL3 Cathodoluminescence System

The Gatan CF302 continuous flow liquid helium cold stage is equipped with the FEI Quanta 200 Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope (ESEM).

The FEI Quanta 200 Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope (ESEM) is a thermal tungsten gun instrument capable of imaging under three vacuum regimes, i.e. High-vacuum (< 6e-4 Pa), Low-vacuum (10 - 130 Pa) and ESEM-vacuum (10 - 2600 Pa).

When the FEI Quanta 200 ESEM is equipped together with a Gatan MONOCL3 system, its aim is to acquire cathodoluminescence spectra and images. The Gatan MONOCL3 system has a Czerny Turner monochromator with a Peltier cooled Hamamatsu R943-02 PMT UV-Vis detector and a liquid nitrogen cooled Hamamatsu R-5509-72 PMT IR detector.

A Gatan C1002 liquid nitrogen cold stage is available for cooling samples to 80 K while a Gatan CF302 continuous flow liquid helium cold stage is available for cooling to 5 K. A Melles Griot HeCd 100 mW dual wavelength laser is available for simultaneous PL studies with excitation at 325 and 442 nm.

Perkin Elmer Lambda 950 UV/VIS/NIR Spectrometer

The Perkin Elmer Lambda 950 UV/VIS/NIR Spectrometer is a double beam, double monochromators with ratio recording spectrophotometer is controlled by a PC.

  • Wavelength Range: 175nm – 3300 nm
  • UV/VIS Resolution: = 0.05 nm
  • NIR Resolution: = 0.20 nm

Its capabilities include transmittance, absorbance, absolute and variable angle specular reflectance measurements, and solid and liquid sample holders.

Varian Cary 5E UV/VIS/NIR Spectrometer

The Varian Cary 5E UV/VIS/NIR Spectrometer is a double beam, double monochromator with ratio recording spectrophotometer controlled by a PC.

  • Wavelength Range: 175 nm – 3300 nm
  • Resolution: 0.05 nm

Its capabilities include transmittance, absorbance, absolute and variable angle specular reflectance measurements, and solid and liquid sample holders. Extended sample chamber for large samples is available and has purpose built heating system for thin films.

Ocean Optics SD2000 Diode Array Spectrometer

The Ocean Optics SD2000 Diode Array Spectrometer is a compact plug in fibre optic UV-VIS spectrometer with fixed grating and 2048-element linear CCD-array detector.

  • Wavelength Range: 360 – 1000 nm.

Its capabilities include sampling optics, integrating sphere (1.5” diameter), measurement of diffuse and specular reflectance.
