User access and registration
If you would like to get more information or gain access to the facilities in the Microbial Imaging Facility, in the first instance you should:
- See access charges for Microbial Imaging Facilty
- Send an email expressing your intention and interest to the Facility Director: Cynthia.Whitchurch@uts.edu.au.
- Next a meeting will be arranged with the Facility Director and the Professional Officer to discuss your project and establish your requirements.
- Ensure you have read and completed the new user registration form (PDF, 656 kb, 6 pages) and bring it with you to the meeting
After approval of the project work, a time will be organised with the Facility's Professional Officer to arrange training and induction. Also see Microscopy Induction Checklist (PDF, 620 kb, 3 pages).
After this formal registration and induction process, you will be able to use our online booking system by logging-in using your user name and password.
For external users this will be provided to you by the Facility's Professional Officer.
For UTS student and staff only, you will be able to use your UTS webmail user name and password to gain access.
Your first booking will be with an assigned MIF staff member who will provide the necessary training and approve independent access once a sufficient level of skill has been achieved.
Please note: OMX microscope is operated only by the MIF OMX specialist. If you wish to use this instrument, please contact the Facility Director, A/Prof Cynthia Whitchurch.
