The University collects research publications data as part of its external and internal reporting obligations. Collection of the Faculty of Science research publications published in 2006 has commenced and must be concluded at Faculty by Friday 9 March 2007.All submissions must reach the Faculty Research & Development Office by this date.

The first four categories of the data are provided to the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST uses the data we provide to calculate the allocation of block funding to the University). All categories are used (in conjunction with research income and research student data) to determine the internal funding allocations from the Institutional Grants Scheme to Faculties and Centres.

All submission must meet the DEST eligibility requirements and must include a signed Proforma as well as all other verification documents required by DEST.

The SEVEN eligible categories in this year's collection are:

Books (weighted at 5 for IGS)
Book Chapters (weighted at 1)
Journal Articles (weighted at 1)
Conference Proceedings (weighted at 1)
Refereed Design or Design Awards
Full Patents
Major Creative Works
