The Microstructural Analysis Unit (MAU) is a centralised large-equipment facility that underpins high quality research as well as postgraduate and undergraduate teaching programs within the Faculty of Science at UTS.

MAU is one of five centre of expertise that provides researchers in the physical and biological sciences with access to state-of-the-art microscopy and micro-analysis instrumentation and is staffed by personnel with expertise in a broad range of cutting-edge microanalysis techniques.

MAU offers a variety of accredited courses in electron microscopy and microanalysis, x-ray techniques and scanning probe microscopy and maintains and develops a number of unique micro-characterisation capabilities in these fields.
